We are trusted by one of the most renowned MMA schools in Germany. In Balingen, we look after several of Peter Sobotta's professional fighters.

We also work closely with the steadily growing AXE GYM in Schwabmünchen.

No other sport is as challenging ...

Martial arts places the highest demands on your body and mind. If your body is not robust enough or you are not fully focused, injuries can quickly occur.

That's where our training comes in!

The 3 most common problems of martial artists

Specific athletic training

As a martial artist, you need to be good at all motor skills.
Strength, speed, endurance, agility and coordination.
You often don't know where to start.
Maybe you are already registered at a gym and train there like others do. But you're not a bodybuilder.
Going for a run every now and then is supposed to improve your stamina,
but it actually takes up far too much of your time, which you actually need for recovery or could spend on the mat.
Every now and then you stretch after training, but you still can't do the splits.
Although you may have already acquired a lot of knowledge yourself, you still lack the right system.
And you haven't even thought about injury prevention!

Performance-oriented nutrition

The calories burned during training must also be replenished. But quality is also crucial here. But what is the right thing to do? Can you answer this question with absolute certainty? Exactly how many calories do you need? Macros aren't everything! Which micronutrients do you need and in what quantities? Which trace elements? What role does creatine play in martial arts?
When should I eat and how much?
Every workout damages your body, which needs to be repaired with the right building blocks!
And what's the right way to make weight before a fight?
Radical cuts shortly before the fight reduce your performance and you have the feeling that you could get even more out of it!

Sufficient regeneration

You go to training every day. Sometimes even two or three times a day. You notice the exhaustion, but your opponent doesn't sleep either. You want to be one step ahead. You might get injured more often, you lack the drive and yet you don't want to miss a training session.
Regeneration is the key to success, because real progress happens during rest periods. You may go ice bathing, to the sauna, have the latest massage gun and the best supplements, but somehow none of this really helps. And what was that again about sleep? What is the optimal time? Eight hours or nine? Maybe just seven and a half?
When you're tired and exhausted, mistakes creep in. You no longer perform the techniques correctly and you become susceptible to injury!

Connor | Athletics trainer and head coach

Hi there! I'm Connor and I founded MMAthletics 2 years ago. I have been practicing martial arts (BJJ & Thai boxing) since I was 16. At the age of 20 I joined the German Armed Forces, where I was able to realize my dream and made it to a special unit. During this time, I prepared soldiers and police officers for their selection procedures for units such as the KSK, SEK and GSG9. There were also many martial artists among the athletes. Today, I focus on these athletes with MMAthletics.
I am responsible for athletics training and our mindset calls. I am also a licensed nutritionist.

Peter | MMA expert, athletic trainer and nutritionist

My name is Peter and I am responsible for the martial arts expertise at MMAthletics. With almost 25 years of martial arts experience, I've seen and experienced quite a bit. I've fought in kickboxing, judo, all-around fighting, wrestling, Bjj and MMA and have also been active as a trainer for 12 years.

In 2014, I tore my cruciate ligament in an MMA fight and used the subsequent injury break to further my education in the areas of athletic training and nutrition.

I have been running my own martial arts school for Thai boxing, grappling and MMA in Schwabmünchen since 2019.

My intention is always to be able to understand and support both the normal “everyday athlete” and the professional athlete. The task is interesting for everyone, while the one wants to integrate sport and fitness into their everyday life, the professional needs to fine-tune their top performance.

I am very happy to have found a great and competent team here at MMAthletics, with whom I can give the German and hopefully international martial arts scene a boost, because the sport has developed extremely, simply training hard is no longer enough, that's why
...TRAIN SMART, HIT HARD!

Kristina | Nutrition expert

Hey, I'm Kristina and at MMAthletics I'm responsible for providing nutritional advice to our athletes and for fitness and athletic training for our women.

I am currently studying to become a nutrition teacher at the BSA Academy so that I can provide you with adequate and detailed answers to all your nutrition questions. In addition, I always stay informed about the latest independent, non-economic or otherwise motivated studies and findings in the field of nutrition.

Viki | Mobility expert

Hi, I'm Viki and I'm responsible for mobility training at MMAthletics. I have been figure skating since I was four years old. In 2014, I took a break from figure skating and did taekwondo for two years instead. I then returned to figure skating and now train at a performance-oriented level. I also train with Peter at AxeGym, where I do kickboxing and functional training.

Mobility training should be integrated into every athlete's training plan. Mobility training is not only about improving freedom of movement, but also about developing a more powerful, athletic and resilient athlete. Therefore, my job is to make our athletes mobile and injury resistant. To achieve this goal, I have developed a multi-stage mobility course. This is available to our athletes in our online academy!

Leo IT expert

Hi, I'm Leo and I'm responsible for all IT matters at MMAthletics.
I'm currently working on our new member area and our own app.

My goal is to create a pleasant user experience for you and to ensure the security of your data.

It's not your fault ...

... that you haven't found the optimal training routine, don't know how to eat a targeted diet and regenerate in the best possible way for fewer injuries and more time on the mat.

If it were that simple and you could know everything, the pros wouldn't need a large team of trainers

You want to be better than everyone else and develop your full potential. You want to realize your dream and become a champion!

But your martial arts gym alone can't help you achieve this. Because there's so much more to being a good fighter.

It's not your fault that...

• your trainer can't take care of you individually, he has dozens of other fighters to look after

• there is no proper athletic training in your gym

• your trainer lacks the knowledge about training, nutrition and regeneration. It's already enough work to be an expert in your combat sport

• your training group doesn't have the same ambitions as you do

• you keep getting injured because you don't know how to train to prevent injuries

You finally want to make real progress and dominate the fight?

Do you want to be part of a team that cares as much about your success as you do?

Then MMAthletics is the right place for you!

What our athletes say

I prepared for my first boxing match with MMAthletics and it was a very good decision. The training was very structured and professionally organized and I got an answer to my questions immediately and didn't have to wait long. I can only recommend MMAthletics to anyone 💪🔥

Lenn Schob  //  Amateur Boxer

Super conscientious, committed coach

Top structured and well-founded coaching. Very good accessibility, always quick, helpful answers and individually tailored solutions. A holistic approach is taken to the coachee's reality of life in order to really get the best out of them, not only in terms of performance but also in terms of health. Therefore clearly 5 stars!

Till stritter  //  Former professional MMA fighter and kickboxing coach

As kickboxing and martial arts in general is a very extensive sport in which you have to call on many factors of the body, it is incredibly important to have a wide-ranging training program. MMAthletics has put me on the right track to be able to call on my full performance capabilities. Despite years of training and competition experience, I was able to take my training to a new level.

Nick Jooß  //  Former ASFO Intercontinental K1 Champion, Former ISKA German K1 Champion

Pain-free into the competition

I had shoulder pain, my orthopaedist and orthopaedic surgeon couldn't help me, so I turned to MMATHLETICS and took part in the 4-week preventive training program. Connor even came to Dachau to have a look at my shoulder! He set up a training program for me, and indeed the pain was gone after 4 weeks, so that I could successfully participate in the BJJ tournament Grappling Industries! Kristina supported me very professionally with my diet and helped me to lose 3kg for the competition. I thank Connor and Kristina very much! I can highly recommend the professional support from MMATHLETICS!
